DETAILS:

This is a weekly technique-based class for advanced contemporary modern movement exploration and practice…modified for your living room space! The class interweaves Bartenieff, Alexander, Limon, and Release Technique, as well as various concepts of somatics and biomechanically intelligent explorations of the kinesphere. Dancers are encouraged to investigate movement material from a anatomical/kinesthetic approach of feeling the body move “in the round” while examining both relationships within the body and within the space. Dancers can expect a centering and grounding somatic warm up, exercises focused on examining technique, locomotor experiences, weekly floor work, intricate gesture, and phrases exploring space and direction changes. Class is live-accompanied by musician, Amy Shelley.
