Alexander Technique and Movement with Alice MacDonald

Aug 15 2020

Eastern Time
11:00 am

This class will provide an introduction to the Alexander Technique which provides us with a process for creating awareness around how we are thinking and moving. As we learn to include and increase our own awareness we can then use this information to create new choices and make changes in our habitual ways of thinking and moving that allow us to release effort and explore more ease and freedom. Together we will spend time building awareness around the connections through our bodies and with space, explore dynamic balance, and cultivate a sense of flow from the inside out. We will practice embodying these ideas that foster being available, present, and alert for making choices in our dancing and our daily lives.

Image Description: Alice stands in the center of the image guiding participants, lying on the ground and whose knees can be seen at the bottom of the photo, through an Alexander Technique class. Alice is a white woman with straight blonde hair and is wearing a white long sleeve shirt and black pants. Her arms are gesturing forward with the elbows bent and palms facing upwards. In the room around her, there are wood floors and white walls and an old radiator behind her on the left. There are two house plants that decorate the room as well as a long mirror, a wooden stool and a black Alexander Technique poster on the wall behind her.
