Beginner Broadway Jazz with Sue Samuels, Jazz Roots Dance Company Artistic Director
Sue’s warm-up concentrates on placement, stretch, and strength and is done to live percussion. The class continues with jazz isolations and across-the-floor work on turns, kicks, and jumps. Lastly, using the fundamental movements already addressed, there is a choreographed combination to contemporary dance music which gets the students dancing and having fun! Do you need to get moving? Do you need to work on your “picking-up” skills? This class works on stretching, strengthening, moving, and giving you the tools to pick up choreography in ANY style.
You can get ready for auditions by training in Sue’s class. She offers various styles of dance including theater, latin, lyrical, and a strong classical jazz. The knowledge of all these styles are needed for a career on Broadway.
