Clitoral Embodiment
The embryology of the genitalia represents an unexplored frontier in Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®). Clitoral Embodiment remedies the inattention paid to female and non-binary genital development by presenting a framework for embodying multiple potentials for sex and gender expressions through imagery, movement, and embryological study. Standing at the intersection of somatics, embryology, and gender/sexuality studies, Clitoral Embodiment uses BMC embodied anatomy through guided solo somatic movement and dance improvisation to explore an underlying biological explanation for sex and gender fluidity. People of all genders are welcome, and all explorations in these classes will be practiced fully clothed.

8/8––Invagination: we are enfolded by space
The body is not a bunch of separate parts, but one thing that has infinite folds. Through this process of invagination we make ourselves. In this class we will practice an embodied, feminist reimagining of space and our relationship to the world around us.

8/15––The Pelvis: muscles, bones, and connective tissue
In this class we will orient ourselves through an anatomical and somatic investigation of the container of the genital organs, ducts, and glands. There will be an emphasis on fascial relationships between the contents and container, and an eye on how our external structure is informed by our viscera.

8/29––Gonads: ovotestis and the labioscrotal folds
There are many different potential variations of the gonads. Through sensing and moving from our undifferentiated embryonic origins, and potential variations in our adult bodies, we can broaden our perception of sex and gender expression.

9/5––The ClitDick: walking with our crura
Did you know that your genitalia have legs and that their little legs have been walking with you during every step you’ve taken? In this class we will explore the legs of the clitoris/penis through anatomical study and dancing.

Any donations from $1-$25 are happily accepted however no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
