Contemporary Jazz with Julia Kane
Join Julia Kane for a contemporary jazz class on Instagram Live at @juliakanedancecollective
Julia holds a BFA in Dance, is a graduate of the Broadway Dance Center Professional Semester, and of Long Island High School for the Arts (under the direction of Janice Aguilera and Shirlene Blake). Today, she continues to train consistently throughout NYC, where she is mentored by Michelle Barber. She has had the privilege of assisting Michelle at Broadway Dance Center’s Dance Educator Development as well as for private master classes.
In 2017, Julia Kane Dance Collective was established. In 2019, Julia choreographed a (sold out!) full length performance, Cultivated Chaos, to benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Following Chaos, she worked as Associate Choreographer to Zanza Steinberg for ALMA NYC’s debut of YELLOW. As a dancer, she has performed at various NYC venues including at Hammerstein Ballroom during New York Fashion Week.
Julia is on Jazz Faculty at PMT House of Dance, and can be found subbing Jazz, Contemporary, and Lyrical at Broadway Dance Center, and for Broadway Dance Center Children and Teens. She has choreographed award winning solos, duets, small group, and production numbers. Julia has experience teaching children as young as 3, and students of all ages with various physical and developmental disabilities.
