Dancing with Parkinson’s (Standing) with Stacie Lowell
Dancing with Parkinson’s offers specifically tailored ballroom dance classes for people with Parkinson’s disease through our network to everyone online. In Dancing with Parkinson’s classes, participants are empowered to explore movement and music, encouraged to gently improve balance and posture, all in the comfort of your home. This began as an in studio class but transformed into an online opportunity as travel and caretakers were difficult to accommodate. Launched as a collaboration between Stacie Lowell and Parkinson’s Lifestyle Management, the Dancing with Parkinson’s program also provides various outlets for exercise that can be done standing or while sitting.
The class will consist of:
1) Warm up for 5 to 10 minutes
2) Movement and exercise to awesome music for 30 to 40 minutes
3) Cool down for 5 to 10 minutes
* Frequent breaks can be taken
Equipment: non slip socks, cane, walker, chair, water, towel
(“Local Time” is the time zone approximated based on your physical location)
Class information is gathered through community submissions.
