Deep Listening
“In this middle, where the event is still welling, there is potential for new diagrams of life-living to be drawn.” – Erin Manning

How do we recompose our perceptual habits in order to find orientation through the incomprehensible present? This practice is an invitation to expand presence within the subterranean layer of awareness where creativity and healing coalesce.

There is more to listening than meets the ear. We will work from Pauline Oliveros’ pedagogy, tuning our bodies as porous vessels in order to approach the act of “listening to listening itself.” We will explore textures of depth as we listen, sound, vision, sense, and attend together, becoming unfamiliar to the familiar as we try on new frameworks for encountering our selves and the world.
(60 minutes)
