Somatic-based dance improvisations focus on waking up the movements of the spine. Further guided dances serve as an alternative entry point into the feeling and sensation of polycentric movement, when the body moves from more than one impulse. The end goal is ecstatic embodiment.

Your Teachers:
Amelia Uzategui Bonilla and Juan Urbina are Latinx dance artists who met through MA CoDE at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts in Germany. Juan combines Venezuelan traditions into his contemporary dance practice: patterned steps, spatial figures, dynamics and initiations from the pelvis. Amelia is a certified practitioner of the Tamalpa Life/Art Process® whose praxis grounds itself in decoloniality, intersectionality, and the post-migrant experience. Together, they collaborate on an upcoming project titled: Perfectionism Detox.
