Class description: Class will consist of a contemporary warm up, some strengthening and conditioning and finally ending with a combination.

How to access class:

  • Confirmation email will be sent with link to the zoom meeting the day of the class. Please make sure you have the following items for before the start of class:1- Strong internet connection

    2- Download Zoom App on your device

    3- Space big enough to move around

    4- Ballet “Barre.” this can be a waist high chair, kitchen counter, wall, or even the back of your sofa.

    5- Appropriate footwear to keep your body safe.

Instructor bio: Elizabeth Sutton is originally from Moorpark, CA. She began dancing at the age of three and has trained at various studios around Southern California. During her senior year of high school, she joined the pre-professional dance company Innovate and had the opportunity to work with and perform pieces by distinguished choreographers like Sonya Tayeh, Lauren Adams, Melissa Jackson, Teddy Forance, and Jason Parsons. After graduating high school, Elizabeth moved to Tucson, AZ, to attend the University of Arizona. She graduated summa cum laude and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a Business Administration minor. During her time at the University of Arizona, Elizabeth performed in works by Sherry Zunker, Ohad Naharin, Miguel Perez, Amy Ernst, Tamara Dyke-Compton, Michael Williams, and Sam Watson. She also spent her summers training with renowned dance companies such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, BODYTRAFFIC, Houston METdance, SoulEscape, and River North Dance Chicago. She is also a Perry Mansfield alumni. Currently, Elizabeth lives in Houston, TX as a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She was a two year company member with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company where she worked closely with choreographers such as Kate Skarpetowska, Kyle Abraham, and Dominic Walsh. Elizabeth is currently a founding member of the Houston Contemporary Dance Company and is excited for this new journey. She is thrilled to be teaching at the Institute of Contemporary Dance and to be working with the HC2 students this year!
