Moving with/our Multitudes with Hana van der Kolk

In these zoom containers I will share some practices which take as a given our shared capacities for radical attention/imagination/wisdom/love, as well as our multiplicitous, paradoxical, and porous natures. We’ll engage this terrain through practices such as erotic waiting, waking dreaming, mapping parts of the self through the Internal Family System model, witHnessing/gift dancing, ancestral Reiki mosh pit, anus portal work, object practice, and desire recognition/reception. We’ll move between movement and writing/reflection/visioning, allowing each to deepen/destabilize the other. No dance experience is necessary and the classes will be adaptable to all bodies/abilities. We’ll explore on our own with cameras off and also spend some time in witnessing/collaborating configurations (both psychically and through break out rooms). Have something to write on/with. (75 mins)

Hana van der Kolk is a dancer, performer, educator, counselor, experimental media maker, and facilitator of events. They have performed and taught internationally, volunteer with Troy Bike Rescue on youth advocacy and community solidarity rides, are the gatherer of the temporary “church” A Patch of Sky, and are currently pursuing a practice-based PhD in art at RPI in Troy.

Image Description: The background is a blurry clearing with a patches of trees on both sides. There are two hazy figures, one in a white checked shirt and black pants on the right and another in a dark shirt and shorts facing the figure in the white. In focus, in the foreground, is Hana, a white artist with short dirty blonde hair wearing black jeans and a blue-green vest with a dull sheen. Their gaze is down and their left arm is wrapped around their middle and their right is wrapped around their center toward the back.
