Postballet Barre with Coriolis Dance
Barre and improvisational work with a 15-min class discussion afterwards. Rotating instructors: Co-artistic Directors Natascha Greenwalt and Christin Call, plus company dancer Mariko Nagashima.
POSTBALLET TECHNIQUE is an intermediate/advanced level class that combines contemporary practices with a ballet class structure to explore sensation and imagery in the body. Traditional barre and center combinations are folded into more open-ended improvisatory exercises that facilitate embodiment and connectedness to one’s individuality. Spinal and pelvic articulations, moving in and out of classical shapes, and pushing the extremes of rhythm and dynamics bring many experiential layers for dancers to deepen their technique and artistry. Your instructor participates with you to model and be inside the work with you, progressing and driving you through the entirety of the class.
